In the ever-changing world of surfing, adaptability and innovation are not just advantages, they're necessities. With this in mind UWL turns into Shapers Cluba metamorphosis that goes far beyond a simple name change. This new chapter reflects a shared ambition: to unite the passion, know-how and community of surfing under a single banner. Let's find out what this transition means for the surfing family and what it promises for the future.

Why did UWL become Shapers Club?

What is UWL?

Founded by brothers Renaud and Thomas Cardinal in 1991, UWL is the fruit of a passion inherited and nurtured by the pioneering spirit of their father, one of La Rochelle's first surfers. What began as a hobby in a family garage quickly grew into a renowned brand in Europe, thanks to a relentless quest for innovation and close collaboration with professional surfers. The GREENBOARD project is a testament to their commitment to eco-responsibility.

The GuestShaper concept

The UWL workshop stands out for its unique concept of GuestShaperUWL is proud to announce the launch of the UWL surfboard workshop, inviting renowned master shapers to share their art and create exceptional boards. This initiative allows surf enthusiasts to own a one-of-a-kind board, shaped by surfing legends and finished with the unrivalled craftsmanship of the UWL workshop.

Why the Shapers Club?

The transformation into Shapers Club is the result of a desire to clarify and unify the identity of our workshop and store. This change highlights the close collaboration between various shapers and the workshop, emphasizing that each board, whether bearing Thomas Bexon's signature or the UWL seal, is the fruit of passionate teamwork.
